Putting together deals for clients, helping them with the presentation of the business for sale or doing the due diligence for a purchaser - these are the tasks that you will enjoy in this responsible role. In an established team with work flowing in, your role will be to undertake the more complicated assignments and help more junior staff to contribute. There is plenty of scope for you to develop your own skills with ready access to partners and managers with many years of experience. What our employer client is looking for is someone with Corporate Finance experience already, or a background in BAS or Audit. Commercial accounting experience is not really going to help in this position as a working knowledge of how a CA office works is important in this context, although of course if you have had a business analyst or corporate recovery role in a financial institution it may be worth discussing? Most of all you need to have confidence in dealing with people that goes beyond knowing how to use the computer or study the tax requirements.
